This week I took part in the Standard Chartered Great City Race as part of the Investec Team. It was already a while that I hadn’t participated in any charity and competition event and I really enjoyed it.
146 Investec colleagues took part at the Standard Chartered Great City Race
The purpose of this 5km challenge is to fundraise resources for Futuremakers, a global initiative to tackle inequality and promote greater economic inclusion for young people in our communities. £10 from each entry fee to the 2019 Standard Chartered Great City Race will be donated to Futuremakers and all money raised for the initiative from this year’s event will go toward education, employability and entrepreneurship programmes for disadvantaged young people around the world.
Regarding the race, I got near the time I was intially aiming for, 23 minutes, so pretty happy with it. It is amazing how you get motivated and better results when you are surranded by people pushing for the same goal you are also looking for.

I enjoy designing and developing software applications, it is my job and one of my hobbies. I’m interested in design patterns, new technologies and best practices. Making those part of the ALM process is a great challenge.
